Finally! 17th may is over, Norway’s national day. We celebrate it with lots of ice cream, children walking in a in a procession, and bunad. Bunad is Norway’s national costume. It looks awful if u asks me, like a piece of a curtain. *lol* And do u know what we pay for a dress like that? My mum had to fork out between 25,000 – 30,000 NOK ($4000 – 4500) That’s sick!! And it doesn’t fit anymore either. It’s too big and we found that out too late, so we hadn’t time to call the tailor to alter it. And I look so thick in it. It’s so much fabric in it. It has a weight at 10 pounds, but that’s with the silver. I’ll post a picture of a bunad like mine below.
I think this dress look silly. But this is just one of many kind of bunader we have. Every array has their own.
I ate so much ice cream yesterday. It’s like a tradition to eat lots of ice cream 17th may. And I couldn’t puke either. I was with friends downtown all day. The stores were closed. So there weren’t any public toilets, or there was one at the bus-station. Yack! I also wear my bunad, and I didn’t wont to spoil vomit on it. Then my mum had been furious, and we had to get it to the cleaner's... and third, I couldn’t do it to my friends. I wouldn’t ruin their day. They were so happy...
